White Sox return 26th man Brent Morel to Class AAA Charlotte; option Brian Omogrosso to Charlotte

CHICAGO - Following the second game of tonight's doubleheader vs. Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox returned 26th man Brent Morel to Class AAA Charlotte and optioned right-handed pitcher Brian Omogrosso to Charlotte.

Morel, 26, appeared in three games with the White Sox at third base after being recalled from Charlotte on June 26, going 2-9 with a run scored. He is batting .280 (68-243) with 19 doubles, five home runs, 40 RBI and a .373 on-base percentage in 66 games with the Knights in 2013.

Omogrosso, 29, is 0-2 with a 9.37 ERA (17 ER/16.1 IP) in 12 relief appearances over two stints with the White Sox this season. He was recalled from Charlotte for the second time on June 21.

The White Sox will have a corresponding roster move prior to this afternoon's game vs. Cleveland.
