DENVER -- Padres first baseman William Myers left Saturday night's 16-0 loss to the Rockies with a right leg contusion after fouling a ball off his right knee in the sixth inning.
"It's pretty sore," Myers said. "I took it off the back knee. Probably the worst I've ever been hit by myself. I squared it up pretty good."
Myers walked it off during his at-bat and ended up striking out looking to end the inning.
"I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I play [Sunday]," Myers said. "We'll see how it feels in the morning, but I should be in there."

Myers was treated with ice and said he'll take something to get the swelling down.
"[The ball hit me] in the back of my back leg -- it's hard to do," he said. "It's all muscle. It didn't hit the bone at all. It's more like a dead leg. It just kind of shot up through my leg and down to my foot. It's just sore. That's about it."
The Padres were down, 7-0, and hadn't collected a hit until there were two outs in the sixth, when Manuel Margot hit a dribbler to the catcher and beat it out for an infield single. Carlos Asuaje followed with a hard single to right, and Myers struck out to end the rally and, ultimately, his night.

The Padres double-switched in the bottom of the inning, leaving Luis Torrens in at catcher after his pinch-hit at-bat for reliever Jose Valdez, bringing Hector Sanchez in to play first base and bat eighth for catcher Austin Hedges, with reliever Miguel Diaz taking Myers' spot the lineup.
The Rockies scored nine more runs while the Padres had all goose eggs on the scoreboard. With Myers (28 homers, 71 RBIs) out of the game and Jose Pirela (hitting .288 in 82 games) missing his fourth straight game with a sprained little finger, the Padres' offense continued to struggle. San Diego has scored only four runs over its five-game losing streak.
"You got to fight," manager Andy Green said. "Every single at-bat needs to be a grind, needs to be a fight. It hasn't been that way for a little bit. You want to see guys put together tough at-bats. You want to see guys compete, and recognize this for what it is. It's an opportunity to establish yourself for the future in a Padres uniform. You don't want to just let these games slide by. You want to go out and take advantage of them. Go out there to win a baseball game. We haven't done that well the last four or five games."
