BALTIMORE -- Wil Myers' June surge wasn't enough to place him among the All-Star Game's leading vote-getters, as the newest round of voting results was released Wednesday afternoon.
Myers leads the Majors with nine home runs this month and is hitting .360/.419/.827 in a June push for an NL All-Star spot. On the season, he's hitting .290 with a team-high 16 dingers, while playing an elite defensive first base, as well.

"You'd love to see the fan base get out and vote for him," said Padres manager Andy Green. "I think he very much deserves to be in consideration for the All-Star Game. It's a heck of a group of National League first basemen, there's no doubt about that. But I don't think anybody could look at ours and say they wouldn't want to have him on the club after what he's been doing."
Despite leading all first basemen in fWAR (Frangraphs' measurement of WAR), Myers trails the Cubs' Anthony Rizzo, who sits in first place in fan voting, followed by the Giants' Brandon Belt and the D-backs' Paul Goldschmidt.
"He's winning games in a bunch of different fashions," Green said of Myers. "He's picking balls at first base, he's making plays, he's driving runs in, he's stealing bases. He's a productive, winning baseball player right now. That's what an All-Star is."
Major League Baseball revealed the top-five leading vote-getters at each position Wednesday (and the top 15 outfielders), and will do so again next week. No Padres were listed among the current leaders.
Myers would appear to be the club's top choice among position players, but lately Jon Jay and Matt Kemp have both made their own pushes for consideration. Jay entered Wednesday leading the National League with 24 doubles, while batting .296/.345/.407. Kemp, meanwhile, is hitting .265/.281/.481 and boasts 15 dingers and 49 RBIs.
Should any Padre be voted into the All-Star Game's starting lineup, they would join Tony Gwynn, Benito Santiago and Fred McGriff as the only San Diego players to represent their club by starting in a hometown All-Star Game.
Fans can cast their votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- exclusively online using the 2016 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, June 30, at 8:59 p.m. PT.
