Wil Myers is going to hate to see June end tonight.
The first baseman hit his 18th homer of the season Tuesday night against the Orioles to give him two Padres power records for the month of June -- with one game to play in Wednesday night's series finale against the Orioles at Petco Park.
Myers' three-run homer was his 11th of the month. That is the most ever by a Padre during the month of June, eclipsing the mark of 10 hit by Greg Vaughn in 1998 en route to his club-record, 50-homer season.
Myers' homer was also his 12th at Petco Park this season. The record for most homers for an entire season at Petco Park is 15, set by Will Venable in 2013 and equaled by Justin Upton last season.
The homer was also Myers' 20th extra-base hit this month, which too is a Padres record. Steve Finley (1996) and Adrian Gonzalez (2010) each had 19 extra-base hits in June. Myers has nine doubles to go with his 11 homers.

Myers is one of three Padres to have as many as 20 extra-base hits in a month. The record is 21 by Vaughn in May of 1998. Ryan Klesko also had 20 extra-base hits in May of 2001.
Myers is hitting .326 (31-for-95) in 25 games this month with 31 RBIs and 24 runs scored to go with his nine doubles and 11 home runs. He has also drawn 18 walks this month, including nine in his last five games, giving him a .434 on-base percentage to go with his .768 slugging percentage for a 1.202 OPS for the month.

--Melvin Upton Jr. made one of the greatest defensive plays in Padres' history Tuesday night in his second start in center field this season. Everyone has likely seen the leap Upton made at the center field fence in the second inning to reach above and rob J.J. Hardy of a home run. But just as impressive was the perfect throw Upton made to first from the fence in center to double-up Mark Trumbo. The package was exceptional. An inning later, Upton raced in to make a sliding catch that robbed another Oriole.

--Then there was the homer hit by Upton to open the Padres' first. The Padres initially listed his drive to center at 432 feet, then revised the distance to 444 feet. But two other home run distance trackers put the homer at 462 and 465 feet -- which would have made it the longest home run in Petco Park history.

--Right-handed starter Andrew Cashner threw 38 pitches over three innings Tuesday night in his rehab start with Class-A Lake Elsinore. Twenty-five of those pitches went for strikes. Cashner allowed two hits and no runs and had one strikeout. The plan is for him to come off the disabled list, possibly as soon as Sunday. He has been on the DL since June 11 with a neck strain.
--Right-handed starter Erik Johnson allowed two more homers Tuesday night and has given up a total of nine in 19 2/3 innings covering his four starts as a Padre. Johnson is 0-4 with a 9.15 ERA with San Diego.
