MILWAUKEE -- Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos showed in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Brewers that he belongs on the National League All-Star team. He went 4-for-5 to raise his batting average to a career-high .341.
In the third inning, Ramos drove in the go-ahead run off right-hander Zach Davies, a single up the middle to score Daniel Murphy.

"He extends the lineup. He is having great at-bats," Murphy said.
Despite the offensive success, Ramos is third among NL catchers in the latest Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot. Ramos was 306,434 votes behind the Cardinals' Yadier Molina, who is in first place, while the Giants' Buster Posey was 231,021 ahead of Ramos. Manager Dusty Baker showed how much he feels about Ramos' game. Starting Wednesday, the skipper moved Ryan Zimmerman down from fifth to sixth and move Ramos to the fifth spot behind Murphy.

"Ramos has been one of the best, so I have him and Murph back to back," Baker said. "They have been doing what they have been doing."
Ramos is pleased with his season, but it's all about winning games. After a loss, Ramos takes it hard.
"I just go out there and do what I can to help the team win, support my team as much as possible," he said. "Hopefully, I'm building confidence and I appreciate my manager giving me the confidence to put me in the [middle of the order]. I've been doing the job for him all season. I hope to continue producing like I have been and supporting the team and helping out as much as possible."
