Reds Minor Leaguer Felix Perez had three hits, and Milwaukee's Juan Francisco hit a solo home run as Licey took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-nine championship series. Licey right-hander Yunesky Maya, an Atlanta farmhand, tossed seven innings of one-run ball while allowing four hits. Pirates prospect Gregory Polanco homered for Escogido. Box score

Mayaguez 6, Caguas 4
Eddie Rosario, the Twins' No. 5 prospect, went 3-for-4 with a home run, and Brewers farmhand Martin Maldonado had two hits and two RBIs as Mayaguez evened the best-of-seven finals at one. Four Criollos, led by Reds prospect Neftali Soto, had two hits for Caguas. Box score

Hermosillo 4, Navojoa 0
Luis Alfonzo Garcia had two hits, and Barry Enright threw 6 2/3 innings of shutout ball as Hermosillo defeated Navojoa in the opening game of the best-of-seven finals. Six Naranjeros players collected a hit, including Yankees prospect Zelous Wheeler. John Lindsey, Jon Weber and Rolando Acosta also had two hits for Navojoa. Box score

Caribes 11, Zulia 7
Oscar Salazar went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs, and Jose Castillo hit a grand slam as Caribes defeated Zulia in round-robin play. Minnesota's Eduardo Escobar, Royals farmhand Gorkys Hernandez and Cory Aldridge added two hits each. Three players, led by Philadelphia's Freddy Galvis, had three hits for Zulia. Box score

San Francisco farmhand Mario Lisson went 3-for-5 with two home runs and drove in four as Magallanes won easily in Tuesday night's round-robin game. Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval went 3-for-3 with a walk for Magallanes, while Ronny Cedeno added two hits. Dustin Richardson threw six shutout innings to earn the win. Box score
