Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas went 3-for-4 with two doubles, as Lara routed Caracas on Tuesday night. Jairo Perez went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs, increasing his average to .342 on the season. Roenis Elias allowed just an unearned run in five innings and picked up the win. Box score

La Guaira 1, Aragua 0
A pitchers' duel throughout, La Guaira finally broke through in the bottom of the ninth, as Abel Nieves hit a pinch-hit walk-off home run to beat Aragua. The homer spoiled a solid effort by Aragua's Jose Capellan, who allowed just two hits over five innings, while striking out four. Six La Guaira pitchers combined on the shutout. Box score

Margarita 8, Magallanes 2
Margarita scored six times in the eighth inning, breaking open what had been a close game throughout. Mets youngster Wilmer Flores homered twice and went 3-for-4 with five RBIs, increasing his average to .379. Alberto Gonzalez added two hits, and Eric Berger allowed just a run on two hits in six innings to get the win. Box score

Licey 6, Aguilas 4
Aguilas plated three runs in the top of the eighth inning to draw even with Licey, but Juan Francisco's solo homer broke the deadlock in the bottom of the frame, and Licey held on. Both Francisco and Anderson Hernandez had two hits for Licey, and starter Ramon Ortiz allowed one run and five hits over five innings. Colorado's Juan Nicasio struggled for Aguilas, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks in 5 1/3. Box score

Estrellas 3, Gigantes 0
Five Estrellas pitchers combined to shut out Gigantes in Tuesday night's 3-0 victory. Esmerling Vasquez tossed four scoreless innings, allowing seven hits, and the bullpen did the rest. Wilson Betemit went 2-for-4 with a double in defeat. Box score

Toros 2, Escogido 1
Jason Rogers hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, breaking a one-all tie and leading Toros to a victory over Escogido. Raul Valdez allowed a run in seven innings, before giving way to Neftali Feliz, who earned the win. Jose Valverde picked up the save with a perfect ninth. Pirates No. 2 prospect Gregory Polanco went 3-for-4 for Escogido, raising his average to .322. Box score

Carolina 16, Caguas 6
Carolina scored early and often Tuesday night in a blowout win over Caguas. Ruben Gotay and Juan Centeno had four hits apiece, and Enrique Hernandez added three, while scoring four times. Carolina jumped out in front right away and owned a 14-4 lead by the end of the fifth inning. Johnny Monell and Juan Silva homered for Caguas. Box score

Ponce 2, Mayaguez 1
Benji Gonzalez led the way for Ponce, pounding out three hits (including two doubles) and scoring both of the team's runs in a victory over Mayaguez. Giancarlo Alvarado was sharp on the hill, tossing six shutout innings andallowing three hits and three walks. He earned the win, while Hiram Burgos -- five innings, one run, three hits, five Ks -- was the tough-luck loser. Box score

Hermosillo 3, Guasave 1
Carlos Alberto Gastelum went 3-for-4 and scored a run as Hermosillo topped Guasave on Tuesday night. Edgar Gonzalez earned the win, tossing six innings of one-run ball, while allowing two hits and two walks. Jesus Cota doubled and scored for Guasave. Box score

Culiacan 12, Navojoa 2
Culiacan scored eight runs in the first two innings en route to a blowout victory over Navojoa on Tuesday. Mario Valdez and Luis Suarez each knocked in three runs, while Brad Boyer doubled twice and scored twice out of the leadoff spot. Amauri Sanit allowed a run on six hits in six innings to improve to 6-0 on the season with a 2.16 ERA. Box score

Mexicali 6, Los Mochis 5
Xorge Carrillo hit a first-inning grand slam, and Mexicali held on late for a one-run victory over Los Mochis on Tuesday night. Chris Roberson, Ramon Rios, Brad Snyder and Gil Velazquez all had two hits for Mexicali. Oscar Villareal tossed a scoreless ninth to pick up his 11th save. Box score
