Lara 7, Zulia 2

Dodgers top prospect Joc Pederson had three hits and drove in two runs as Lara topped Zulia, 7-2. Pederson had struggled out of the gate in the Venezuelan Winter League, but in the past eight games, the toolsy center fielder is hitting .345. The Cubs' Luis Valbuena (2-for-3) and the Pirates' Andrew Lambo (two-run double) also chipped in for Lara. Box score

Caracas 8, Aragua 2

Astros outfielder J.D. Martinez continued his solid campaign with a 3-for-5 night as Caracas cruised past Aragua, 8-2. Martinez, who is now hitting .326 this season, doubled twice and knocked in two runs. Alex Gonzalez also had three hits for Caracas, and Guillermo Moscoso struck out six and tossed five innings of one-run ball to pick up the win. Box score

Margarita 3, Caribes 1

Carlos Monasterios picked up his first victory in style, tossing five innings of two-hit ball to pace Margarita to a 3-1 win over Caribes. Monasterios allowed just an unearned run and struck out three, while Cesar Hernandez and Manny Pina provided some offensive support with two hits apiece. Catcher Jose Gil went 2-for-3 with a walk for Caribes. Box score

La Guaira 10, Magallanes 8 (11 innings)

La Guaira's C.J. Retherford hit a walk-off two-run homer in the 11th inning, putting the cap on a thrilling 10-8 victory over Magallanes in which the two clubs combined for 29 hits. La Guaira scored five in the eighth to take the lead, but Magallanes tied the game on Robinson Chirinos' two-run single in the ninth, capping a three-run frame. Ezequiel Carrera, who led off the game with a home run, had four hits for Magallanes. Box score

Estrellas 4, Licey 2

A four-run fourth inning propelled Estrellas to a victory over Licey on Wednesday night. Audy Ciriaco went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple, and Cubs center fielder Junior Lake plated a pair with a double. Chris Marrero and Carlos Triunfel had two hits apiece for Licey. Box score

Gigantes 5, Toros 3

Free-agent infielder Alexi Casilla had two hits Wednesday night, helping Gigantes to a 5-3 victory over Toros. His third-inning home run put Gigantes ahead by three, and two batters later, Marlins youngster Marcell Ozuna went yard as well. Joey Terdoslavich had three of Toros' seven hits in defeat. Box score

Escogido 8, Aguilas 3

Jorge Polanco's three-hit night helped propel Escogido to an 8-3 victory over Aguilas. Mets center fielder Juan Lagares put Aguilas ahead with a two-run home run in the first inning. But Escogido scored four in the fifth and three in the sixth, and the outcome was never in doubt after that. Sean Nolin tossed 5 1/3 innings and allowed two runs, earning the win. Box score

Carolina 8, Caguas 2

Carolina turned a close contest into a rout with five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday, as it defeated Caguas, 8-2. Enrique Hernandez led the offensive surge with two hits -- including a third-inning homer -- and three RBIs. Shuhei Fukuda, Jesus Feliciano, Osvaldo Martinez and Robinson Cancel also had a pair of hits for Carolina. Box score

Ponce 3, Mayaguez 1

Jon Garcia and Jordan Lennerton went back-to-back in the top of the eighth inning, and that was all the offense Ponce needed in its 3-1 victory over Mayaguez. Garcia, pinch-hitting for Rubi Silva, hit a two-run shot to give Ponce its first lead and, shortly thereafter, Lennerton launched his third homer of the season. Box score

Mexican Pacific League

Hermosillo 3, Culiacan 1

Hermosillo extended its lead in the Mexican Pacific League to four games with its 3-1 victory over second-place Culiacan on Wednesday. Free-agent right-hander Barry Enright continued to dominate, tossing six innings of one-run ball, while striking out five. He improved to 5-2 on the season with a 2.53 ERA. Yankees utility man Luis Cruz was the only Culiacan hitter who could solve Hermosillo pitching, going 3-for-5. Box score

Navojoa 3, Mazatlan 1

Jose Chavez and Jon Weber had two hits apiece as Navojoa knocked off Mazatlan, 3-1, on Wednesday. Alejandro Soto picked up the win, allowing just one run over 5 1/3 frames. He gave up five hits, struck out three and walked none, and the bullpen followed with 3 2/3 hitless innings. Box score

Los Mochis 10, Obregon 3

The Los Mochis offense broke out for 10 hits and 14 runs in an easy victory over Obregon on Wednesday. Saul Soto (3-for-4 with a homer and three runs) and Sebastian Valle (4-for-4 with two doubles) led the charge. Roberto Lopez also went deep for Los Mochis -- a three-run pinch-hit shot in the seventh, his first homer of the season. Box score

Mexicali 7, Guasave 0

Misael Siverio tossed five scoreless innings and the Mexicali bullpen did the rest in a 7-0 victory over Guasave on Wednesday. Siverio struck out five, allowed four hits and didn't walk a batter to record his first win of the season. Offensively, Ramon Rios had two hits and an RBI. Box score
