Licey rallied to score five runs between the sixth and eighth innings, but Escogido held on to its early lead to pick up the victory. Licey had jumped out to a commanding 3-0 series lead, but Escogido bounced back in Game 4 by scoring three runs in the first inning. Cleveland's Carlos Santana made it 5-1 with a two-run homer in the third inning, and Nationals outfielder Eury Perez singled home Erick Almonte in the sixth to give Escogido a five-run lead. Licey stormed back, but Jose Valdez threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn the save. Brewers infielder Juan Francisco led the way offensively for Licey, going 3-for-4 with a solo homer.

Magallanes 5, Caribes 4
Magallanes claimed a 1-0 lead in the league's championship series behind 5 1/3 strong innings from Carlos Zambrano, a three-RBI game by Royals catcher Ramon Hernandez, and strong offensive performances from Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval and free-agent outfielder Juan Rivera. Zambrano allowed one run on five hits and two walks, and Hernandez provided most of the offensive firepower, going 3-for-4 with a two-run homer. Rivera also homered, knocking a solo shot in the second; both of Sandoval's hits were doubles. Padres utility man Alexi Amarista led the way for Caribes, finishing 3-for-3 with a solo homer and two runs.
