Worth noting

• Showalter opted to give center fielder Adam Jones the day off on Saturday, citing the long spring as his reason. Entering Saturday's game, Jones was tied for the team lead with 62 plate appearances this spring, including his participation in the World Baseball Classic.

• The Orioles held a talent show prior to Saturday's tilt against the Mets.

"We've got a couple guys who can sing and one guy who can pass for Michael Jackson," said Showalter. "Some tough judges, though. That was the funniest part of it."

Showalter was most impressed by pitcher T.J. McFarland and his impersonations, especially that of late broadcaster Harry Caray.

"He almost does him too good," Showalter said. "He does it better than Harry. He says some things that Harry should have said."
