Worth noting

• Miguel Gonzalez, whose start was pushed back so that he could get extra rest, will start Friday's game in New York.

• Reliever Luis Ayala, who flew in to Boston late Sunday night after being taken to the hospital in-game after feeling ill, was available to pitch on Monday.

• Right-hander Steve Johnson (lat strain) is getting closer to going out on a rehab assignment and has been throwing with no issues at the team's complex in Sarasota, Fla. Johnson threw live batting practice Monday, tossing 30 pitches.

• Chris Tillman will throw a bullpen session on Tuesday morning, the team's off-day, as he's slated to start Thursday.
