• Right-handed reliever Tim Wood, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a right rotator cuff strain, saw his rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester rescinded after feeling discomfort in his right shoulder. The discomfort is in Wood's right biceps area and will be checked out by team doctors in Rochester, N.Y. on Friday.

Wood, who is out of Minor League options, had a 6.75 ERA in seven appearances for the Red Wings and the 30-day window on his original rehab assignment was scheduled to end on Wednesday.

• A scoring change was made to the Twins' 15-8 win over the Red Sox on Wednesday, as Ryan Doumit's seventh-inning single was changed to a fielder's choice. The strange play, which saw Doumit hit a line drive off Jacoby Ellsbury's glove and then off the wall in left-center, was originally ruled a fielder's choice by the official scorekeeper before being changed to a single after the game.

But after the Elias Sports Bureau reviewed the play and gave more information to the official scorer, the call was again changed to a fielder's choice. Doumit was out for passing Trevor Plouffe on the basepaths while Plouffe was tagged out on the play. Josh Willingham, who was on second base, never advanced to third. The play, however, still could be sent to the Commissioner's Office for further review.

• Third baseman Trevor Plouffe donated four tickets to police officers from nearby Watertown, Mass. Plouffe reached out and offered the tickets after visiting the Boston Strong website.
