Worth noting

• Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper did not play in his second consecutive game against the Cubs because of an ingrown toenail in his right foot. He had surgery on the toe Friday and it is still sore. The Nationals hope Harper is back in action by Sunday's series finale.

• The Nationals made it official Saturday, putting Jayson Werth on the 15-day disabled list -- retroactive to May 3 -- with a right hamstring strain. The Nats also recalled outfielder Eury Perez from Triple-A Syracuse.

Perez joins the Nationals after hitting .346 (37-for-107) with a home run, six RBIs and seven stolen bases in 23 games with the Chiefs. Perez has hit safely in his last nine games with Syracuse, posting a .381 batting average (16-for-42) in that stretch.
