Worth noting

• A trip to the doctor revealed no structural damage in former closer Frank Francisco's right elbow, only a mild strain of the flexor-pronator muscle. Francisco is scheduled to return this week to Florida, where he will resume throwing as tolerated, following a 72-hour period of rest.

• Top catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud will visit a doctor at the end of this week for a routine checkup on his fractured left foot. d'Arnaud is roughly one month into an eight-week recovery.

• To make room on their 40-man roster for Ankiel, the Mets transferred right-hander Jenrry Mejia from the 15- to the 60-day disabled list. Ricco described that move as procedural, since Mejia would not have returned to the Majors before June anyway.
