Worth noting

• The D-backs have talked about starting Ian Kennedy and Trevor Cahill in Monday's day-night doubleheader against the Rangers at Chase Field.

"It could change," D-backs manager Kirk Gibson said.

With an off-day Thursday and another one next Tuesday, the team would not need to add a sixth starter to the rotation for the doubleheader. The D-backs can add a 26th player to their roster for the doubleheader and will likely call up someone who can pitch multiple innings out of the bullpen.

The 26th player must be sent back to the Minors following the second game.

• The 97 pitches Patrick Corbin threw in dispatching the Rockies on Monday night were the fewest in a 10-strikeout complete game since the Cardinals' Chris Carpenter accomplished the feat June 14, 2005.

• Double-A Mobile right-hander Archie Bradley was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week, going 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA. Mobile first baseman Nick Evans was named Southern League Hitter of the Week for hitting .455 with four homers.
