Worth noting

• Mozeliak confirmed that the club plans to have right-hander Jake Westbrook begin a Minor League rehab assignment early next week, as long as he completes a throwing session on Saturday without pain. Westbrook has been on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation since May 9.

• Chris Carpenter threw another pain-free bullpen session on Friday, noting afterward that "everything was good." He is still not expected to face hitters in the immediate future.

• Prior to Saturday evening's game, the Cardinals will host Missouri Governor Jay Nixon as he signs into law HB 68, which will declare November as National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. A portion of each ticket sold to the game will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
