• The Padres' interim closer, Luke Gregerson, was not available for Monday's game against the Braves after pitching in the past two games, and eight of the past 12 days. Dale Thayer handled the save situation, recording the final two outs after giving up Jason Heyward's second solo homer, to pick up his first save of the year and ninth of his career.

• To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the Padres designated catcher John Baker for assignment.

• The Padres have some added some additions to the team's 2013 promotional lineup, including seven new weekend giveaways, Taco Tuesdays and KidsFest at the Park every Sunday.

The expanded promotions begin on July 9, the first Taco Tuesday, which will continue every Tuesday throughout the season. KidsFest begins July 14.
