Worth noting

• Wei-Yin Chen (strained oblique) will throw from a half-mound on Thursday in Sarasota, Fla. If that goes well, he'll throw from a full mound on Saturday and be evaluated from there.

• Alexi Casilla (right index finger) had much better range of motion in his finger Wednesday and said he was going to test it before the game. He was not in the starting lineup, but he was hopeful that he'd be ready if he was needed to throw. He said his legs were working fine, so he was available to pinch-run if needed.

• Brian Roberts (hamstring) took batting practice in the cages at Camden Yards before Wednesday's finale vs. the Angels.

• Tsuyoshi Wada gave up eight runs (seven earned) on six hits and recorded only four outs for Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday. His contract-stipulated rehab assignment is set to end on Saturday, so he would have to accept a designation if the Orioles wanted him to stay in Triple-A.
