Worth noting

• Nationals first baseman Adam LaRoche was given the day off against Phillies left-hander John Lannan on Monday. Johnson said it was just a day off for LaRoche and he wanted to give players such as Chris Marrero and Jeff Kobernus a chance to play. Over his last 40 games prior to Monday, LaRoche was 42-for 139 (.302) with seven home runs and 22 RBIs.
