Worth noting

• Center-fielder Juan Lagares has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games to raise his average from .146 to .211. Even if the results still seem modest, the effort is not going unnoticed.

"He has worked very hard," said Collins. "[Hitting coach Dave Hudgens] tells me he really wants to get better. He has been making pretty good contact and has been getting on."

• The Mets' bullpen, ranked 27th in the Majors in ERA, has pitched to a 1.56 ERA over the last eight games.

• Only four third basemen in MLB history -- David Wright, Eddie Mathews, Ron Cey and Mike Schmidt -- have hit at least 10 home runs in each of their first 10 seasons in the Majors. Wright hit Nos. 10 and 11 of 2013 on Thursday night in Atlanta.
