• Carlos Gomez was back in the Brewers lineup Friday after leaving Thursday's game in the seventh inning with "tightness." Roenicke did not want to say where Gomez felt the tightness, but did say it stemmed from the same play that knocked the center fielder out with a left shoulder strain for three games in June.

• Roenicke said the Brewers may give Aramis Ramirez a couple days off prior to the All-Star break to give the third baseman more time to heal his lingering left knee injury.
