Worth noting

Placido Polanco, on the seven-day concussion list since Aug. 16 after getting hit in the helmet by a ball, will rejoin the team on Tuesday as it begin its nine-game road trip. Infielder Gil Velasquez was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans following Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Rockies.

Rockies first-base coach Rene Lachemann was the Marlins' first manager in 1993.

Sunday's game was designated Miami Children's Museum Charity Partner Day after Miami Children's Museum (MCM) was selected as an official charity partner of the Miami Marlins, one of four non-profit organizations to receive this recognition.

The Marlins' $25,000 gift will support Sensory Saturday, a monthly inclusive and accessibility program that allows children with special needs and their families to explore MCM and its exhibits in a sensory modified and supportive environment.

MCM also created a "Going to the Ballpark" social story for Marlins Park to help children, specifically with autism and special needs, familiarize themselves with aspects of a baseball game.
