Worth noting

• Starter Henderson Alvarez only pitched 1 2/3 innings on Wednesday night before the game was delayed by rain. Redmond wasn't sure if the abbreviated start would affect Alvarez's next turn in the rotation.

"He didn't throw that many pitches, but he did throw a couple times warming up down below," Redmond said. "So we'll just kind of monitor him today, see how he feels and then we'll figure out where we can re-insert him into the rotation."

• Chris Coghlan went 2-for-3 with a double and two walks in his first game at Triple-A New Orleans on Wednesday night. Redmond said Coghlan will likely rejoin the Marlins on Sunday.
