Worth noting

• Left-fielder Khris Davis was not in the lineup for the second consecutive day for Saturday's game against the Cubs. He said he pinched a tendon in his left wrist while swinging a bat in Wednesday's series finale against the Pirates.

Davis said he hopes to be back in the lineup soon and is still day to day.

Carlos Gomez was not in the starting lineup for Saturday's 5-3 win over the Cubs, but he did pinch-hit in the eighth, lining out to center. He stayed in the game as a defensive replacement in the ninth, making a diving catch to end the game.

Roenicke said he saw Gomez limping a bit on the field Friday and decided initially to give him a day to rest is knee.

Gomez sprained his right knee while making a leaping catch in an Aug. 15 game against the Reds.

"[His knee is] not acting up, [the pain] is still there," Roenicke said. "Sometimes when I watch him out on the field, I think I need to give him a day off."

• Entering play on Saturday, Jean Segura and Gomez were two of five players in the Major Leagues with more than 10 home runs and 30 stolen bases this season. Segura was also the only player to have more than 10 homers and 40 stolen bases.
