Worth noting

• Because of Matt Belisle's struggles this month -- eight earned runs in just 5 1/3 innings -- Weiss said Friday the right-hander will be given a few days' rest in hopes the time off will help him straighten things out.

"Physically, he's convinced me he feels fine, but I plan on giving him a couple days," Weiss said. "I think Matty is as tough mentally as anyone we have. He's battling through a tough stretch right here, but I don't have any doubt he's going to be effective again."

Dexter Fowler (left knee) was out of the Rockies' lineup for a sixth consecutive game Friday, but Weiss said there's reason to believe Fowler could return sometime this weekend against the D-backs.

"Dexter is feeling better right now," the manager said. "I think there's a good chance you could see him at some point during this series. That's possible, it seems."
