Worth noting

• Going into Saturday's game against the Braves, the Cubs had hit 170 home runs on the season, second to Atlanta in the National League. Chicago hit 137 in 2012. The Cubs have gotten 30 homers out of the third-base position this season, tied with Tampa Bay for third-most in the Majors behind Detroit (45) and Pittsburgh (34).

• Entering Saturday, the Cubs had played 52 games that were decided by one run, second-most in the NL behind Miami's 53. Chicago was 20-32 in those games, and the club's 32 one-run losses were fourth-most in the Majors behind the Astros, White Sox, and Marlins (33 each).

• Cubs catcher Welington Castillo will undergo arthroscopic surgery either Monday or Tuesday on his right knee to repair a partial meniscus tear. Castillo, who was injured Thursday, will need four to six weeks of rehab.
