Worth noting

• The Phillies announced Tuesday that pitcher David Buchanan will not make the Opening Day roster.

Buchanan had a productive Spring Training and was one of the bright spots in camp, but the Phillies won't need a fifth starter until April 13 and Sandberg said "it looks like we will start with four starters" on the Opening Day roster. Buchanan will begin the season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, but Sandberg said the right-hander "will be in the mix" for that start on the 13th.

"I wanted to come in here and make an impression and open up some eyes and I feel like I did that," said Buchanan, who has a 2.25 ERA over five appearances in the Grapefruit League. "I feel like I proved that I am ready for the next level."

• The Phillies reassigned catcher Koyie Hill to Major League camp as a non-roster invitee, optioned catcher Cameron Rupp to Minor League camp and reassigned catcher Sebastian Valle to Minor League camp. Hill had been in Minor League camp after being acquired last week.
