Worth noting

• Showalter said he will wait and see how Bud Norris' work day goes before deciding if he'll start Wednesday's game against the Pirates. Norris dealt with a little tightness in his right hamstring during his last start in Toronto.

• Johan Santana will throw three innings in a simulated game on Monday and will make his extended spring debut on May 3, pitching one inning or 15-20 pitches.

• Catcher Matt Wieters, who will get Sunday afternoon's game off, is another possibility at first base. Showalter said Wieters, who took some work there prior to Saturday's game, is an option he wouldn't rule out in Davis' absence.
