• Left-hander Joe Saunders (stress fracture, left ankle) is scheduled to make his first rehab start Tuesday and throw about 70 pitches for Double-A Frisco. Saunders went on the disabled list after giving up six hits and five runs, four earned, in 3 2/3 innings before having to leave his lone start this year April 4 at the Rays.

• Right-hander Tanner Scheppers (right elbow inflammation), who has been on the disabled list since April 18, threw from 105 feet Monday. Barring a setback, he's likely to throw off a mound this weekend.

• Double-A Frisco right-hander Jerad Eickhoff was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week for April 28-May 4. On Wednesday, he pitched 7 1/3 innings against San Antonio and allowed one unearned run in a 2-1 win while throwing 60 of 84 pitches for strikes. Eickhoff gave up two hits with one walk and seven strikeouts and retired the first 11 batters he faced.
