Worth noting

• Reliever Neftali Feliz threw a scoreless inning on Friday in Round Rock's 5-1 win over Iowa. It was his second appearance since coming off the disabled list. General manager Jon Daniels said the Rangers would like to see Feliz pitch back-to-back games and a two-inning stint before he is considered an option at the Major League level.

• Class A Myrtle Beach third baseman Joey Gallo is hitting .345 with 17 home runs and 37 RBIs but the Rangers aren't ready to promote him to Double-A Frisco. General manager Jon Daniels said the Rangers will likely wait until June and after the First-Year Player Draft before considering promotions. Said Daniels, "The day we signed him, he had as much power as anybody in baseball. He has made strides in other areas. He has made some strides defensively and made some strides with his [hitting] approach and plate coverage."

• Catcher Brett Nicholas has been activated off the inactive list at Triple-A Round Rock.

• Pitcher Justin Germano has cleared waivers and is trying to decide if he'll accept outright assignment to Triple-A Round Rock. He was designated for assignment on Wednesday.
