Worth noting

• Center fielder Coco Crisp (sore neck) was out of the lineup for the fourth day in a row Sunday. Bob Melvin said Crisp is improving every day but didn't offer a timetable for his return, though the manager did acknowledge the four days off for the All-Star break should help.

"I've said before, once he turns a corner, sometimes it happens pretty quickly. I know he feels better," Melvin said. "He was out on the field yesterday. He didn't hit, but good to get him back out on the field running around."

• Right fielder Josh Reddick, who's been on the disabled list since June 29 with a strained right knee, will begin his rehab assignment with Class A Stockton on Monday but doesn't have a timetable for a return.

"I don't know yet, it depends on how everything goes, how he feels, how he's swinging the bat, all of the above," Melvin said. "Granted it would be nice to have him back. We're a little banged up right now. You look today, we have none of our starting outfielders out there."
