• Ventura provided a brief update on pitching coach Don Cooper, who is back in Chicago suffering from vertigo.

"I actually talked to him today," Ventura said. "I don't know if he's feeling all that much better, but he's feeling better. Not enough to travel yet, but we talked for a little while. But he still sounds [like] he's sick, so I don't know when that day's going to come when he's going to able to travel, but hopefully it's going to be soon."
