Worth noting

Matt Wieters was at Camden Yards on Tuesday and has had the immobilizer removed from his right arm. The catcher is expected to travel with the Orioles for the remainder of the season.

• The Orioles have signed 20-year-old third baseman Gionel Santa out of the Dominican Republic. The right-handed hitter is listed at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds. He signed with Toronto last year, but he was suspended due to an issue with his birth certificate and became eligible again this year. Santa is one of several players who executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette saw on his trip to the Dominican Republic last week, with the O's passing on several others that they were considering last week.

Baltimore was among those with representatives on hand for Cuban free-agent outfielder Rusney Castillo, but the club isn't expected to get into the bidding war that he figures to command.
