• A's manager Bob Melvin needs one more win to become the seventh active manager and 75th in Major League history with 800 wins. The A's are 306-230 since Melvin took over as manager on June 9, 2011.

• The A's bullpen extended its scoreless streak to 26 1/3 innings on Wednesday.
