Worth noting

• Ex-Giant Barry Bonds issued the now-widespread "Ice Bucket Challenge" to Bochy, who immediately accepted it Friday. Bochy had to get doused -- to promote awareness of ALS and encourage donations to finding a cure for the disease -- once the Giants recorded their first victory in their current three-game set at Washington, which entered the series on a 10-game winning streak.

So Bochy submitted to his dousing, performed by left fielder Michael Morse and reliever Javier Lopez, shortly after the Giants' 10-3 victory. "I accepted the challenge gladly," Bochy said. "But for Barry to throw me under the bus, there will be payback."
