Yanks Minor Leaguer Baker suspended 50 games
Yankees Minor Leaguer Ryan Baker has received a 50-game suspension for refusing to take an offseason drug test, Major League Baseball announced on Wednesday.
The catcher, who appeared in two games on the mound for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre each of the last two years (and had two at-bats in 2012), is currently on the roster of the Class A Charleston RiverDogs of the South Atlantic League.
His suspension will be effective at the start of the 2014 season.
