SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- If getting on base and igniting the offense is the goal, Tyler Wade filled his role perfectly on Wednesday afternoon.
Wade notched his first three-hit game of the Arizona Fall League and led an offensive eruption as Scottsdale topped Glendale 13-3 at Surprise Stadium.

The Yankees' No. 14 prospect finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored as Scottsdale won its third consecutive game. As a team, the Scorpions totaled 17 hits, with each starter collecting at least one.
"It was good to get on a roll," Wade said. "I'm back in the lineup more often. It feels good to get my rhythm back and be atop the lineup."
A day after winning on the final pitch via a Tim Tebow walk-off, Scottsdale wasted no time taking over the game. The Scorpions struck early and often, scoring 10 runs in the opening frame.
Wade led off with a single and the carousel of Scorpions' batters followed suit. Each of Scottsdale's first 10 batters reached base and scored before Glendale recorded an out.
Wade, David Fletcher and Gleyber Torres (Yankees' No. 2, No. 17 overall) each had two hits in the frame, while eight different players notched RBIs. When it was all over, the Scorpions sent 15 men to the plate and scored 10 runs on 10 hits, a walk and an error.
"Hitting is contagious," Wade said. "It's always good to see guys putting good at-bats together and we feed off that. It's fun."
Although the big day at the plate was nice, Wade is also using his time in Arizona to learn the outfield.
Since the Yankees selected Wade in the fourth round of the 2013 Draft, he has played 407 Minor League games -- all in the infield. Wade played 328 games at shortstop, 77 at second base and one in third. But back in August, when he was told he was coming to the AFL, he was also told he'd spent time in the outfield.
"I feel good out there," Wade said after catching a trio of fly balls in right. "I'm just using my infield instincts out there. I feel like I'm getting a pretty good read off the bat."
After going 2-for-2 in the first inning, Wade collected his third hit of the day, a one-out single to right in the fifth. Two batters later, Wade scored his third run when Torres ripped a triple with an exit velocity of 107.4 mph, according to Trackman.
Torres finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and he is hitting .341 through 13 AFL games.
Although the offense stole the show, Scottsdale's pitching staff put together a solid afternoon, keeping the Desert Dogs in check and snapping Glendale's five-game winning streak.
After giving up a pair of runs in the first, Angels' No. 10 prospect Grayson Long retired nine of the final 10 batters he faced. Mets' No. 11 prospect Marcos Molina followed up Long and threw 25 of his 36 pitches for strikes. Molina struck out two and gave up two hits in three scoreless frames.
Dodgers' No. 4 prospect Willie Calhoun got Glendale off to a strong start, driving in two with an RBI single in the first. However, the momentum couldn't be sustained. The No. 87 overall prospect went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and is hitting .294 through 11 games.
