Darvish reports no problems in TJ recovery

ARLINGTON -- So far so good for Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish as he makes his long recovery from Tommy John surgery.

Darvish has resumed his throwing program, and said on Tuesday that he has had no problems. He made 25 throws from 60 feet on Monday in what was his fourth session since resuming his throwing program last week.

"I have experienced nothing negative," Darvish said in a rare session with the media. "I'm doing everything I can each day, and everything is positive. I'm doing it lightly, and if I throw it too hard, they tell me to slow down."

Darvish underwent surgery on March 17 and is expected to be sidelined until May 2016. Right now he is throwing three times a week and gradually increasing his workload.

"I don't plan on pushing anything," he said. "I'm just following the program. There is nothing hard about it. It's not like I'm trying to make it by September. If they tell me to slow down, I'll slow down."
