The Yankees' Sonny Gray and the Dodgers' Yu Darvish, the two top hurlers moved prior to the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, toe the rubber Thursday for their encore outings with their new clubs as part of a 12-game slate streaming live on MLB.TV.
Gray's inaugural start with New York was solid, as the right-hander allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts in six innings. Gray's outing was undoubtedly overshadowed by the performance of Cleveland's Corey Kluber, who fired a complete game for the Indians.
Darvish, however, made perhaps the best first impression he could, permitting just four batters to reach base while firing seven scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts.
Thursday night, Gray and the Yankees square off versus Marco Estrada and the Blue Jays before Darvish and the Dodgers face Anthony Banda and the D-backs.

Here's what to watch throughout the day (all times in ET):
Gray street: NYY@TOR, 7:07 p.m.
The Blue Jays introduce Gray to the competitive American League East as the newest member of the Yankees makes his first divisional start since joining the club.
Gray has fared well in his six career starts against Toronto, going 3-2 with a 2.54 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 39 innings.
Estrada has not been himself for much of 2017, but he's looked a little more like it over his past two outings. The 34-year-old completed seven innings in each, allowing four runs total, but did not factor in either decision.

Dodging Darvish: LAD@ARI, 9:40 p.m.
The Dodgers-D-backs series this week has been filled with plenty of intrigue, and it continues tonight as Arizona tries to figure out Darvish, who has faced the Snakes just twice in his five-year career, going 1-0 while giving up four earned runs in 14 2/3 frames (2.45 ERA).
Banda, with two Major League starts under his belt, gets his first taste of the Dodgers' potent lineup. The 23-year-old rookie has fared admirably through his first two games as a big leaguer, surrendering a combined five runs in 11 2/3 innings while striking out 12.

I-70 finale: KC@STL, 7:15 p.m.
The intriguing Interleague series between the two Missouri-based clubs concludes this evening with the Royals' Jason Hammel taking the hill versus the Cardinals' Lance Lynn.

Hammel is coming off a nice stretch of four quality starts in six tries, while Lynn has marveled over his last six outings, going 4-0 with a 1.21 ERA in that span.
