SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- D-backs right-hander Zack Greinke threw 3 1/3 innings in an intrasquad Minor League game Tuesday, and his next start will come in Monday's regular-season opener against the Rockies.
Outfielder A.J. Pollock faced Greinke four times in the game, and afterwards, he said he expects to be ready for Opening Day.
"I had some tough at-bats," Pollock said. "He just gets you really, really locked in. Felt good, felt pretty competitive against him, which is good. Just feels good to be playing."

Pollock, who has missed time this spring with a sore right elbow, has gotten just eight at-bats in Cactus League games, but he has gotten many more than that in Minor League and intrasquad games -- enough to where he feels his timing will be fine come Opening Day.
"I faced Zack today for four at-bats," Pollock said with a smile. "I think that's worth about 30 at-bats."
For his part, Greinke threw around 60 pitches, which is fewer than he did in his last start, as a way of tapering off before his Opening Day start.
"I threw a lot of strikes, some really good offspeed pitches, some good fastballs," Greinke said. "It was pretty good all the way around."
Give me a dozen
D-backs manager Chip Hale said the team plans on keeping 12 pitchers and 13 position players. That was their original intent, but they had been pondering whether keeping 13 pitchers made more sense with only one scheduled off day during the month of April.
