On Monday, May 14th, the 2018 "Crush's Homers for Hearts" event took place. This event is an annual once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in a Home Run Derby challenge in foursomes on the field at Oriole Park. Although the weather didn't cooperate and the Home Run Derby portion of the event had to be postponed, participants had the opportunity to meet and take pictures with Chris and Jill Davis, receive personalized Orioles jerseys, and enjoy complimentary food and beverages. Before the rain rolled in, the Davis family hosted patients from UMCH for a longest ball T-ball challenge on the field.
Chris and Jill Davis serve as ambassadors for the University of Maryland Children's Hospital at the University of Maryland Medical Center, helping to raise awareness for childhood illnesses and UMCH's role as a leader in patient care, pediatric disease research, and teaching future generations of health care providers. The Davis family announced their partnership with the University of Maryland Children's Hospital in late 2016.
