The Baltimore Orioles have partnered with digital learning innovator EverFi to launch a baseball-themed, online education program for kids called Summer Slugger. This interactive, gamified course makes learning fun, and helps prevent the "summer slide" -the loss of critical math and literacy skills during the vacation months. The course is recommended for 4th-5th graders and is available to fans, schools, and community organizations at no cost. Sign up today by visiting summerslugger.com/orioles.
"Bird on a STEM" lesson plans is a program through a partnership with Maryland State Public Schools. The plans, which focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, were created by members of the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellows.
Teachers of grades six through eight who wish to have their classes participate in this initiative can access the curriculum for FREE by registering. In addition, classes that participate with this initiative will have the chance to win prizes through random selections. Prizes include tickets to an Orioles game.
