Cashner activated from DL vs. Blue Jays

Reliever Hart optioned to Triple-A Norfolk; Jones sits

July 21st, 2018

TORONTO -- The Orioles activated from the 10-day disabled list prior to his start against the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon. Reliever was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk in the corresponding move.
Cashner was placed on the DL with a neck strain on July 10. He last pitched on July 11 against the Yankees, allowing five runs over 6 1/3 innings.
"I think he's ready to go, we'll keep an eye on him," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "I think he'll finish up strong. It's what he's done in the past."
Hart has been optioned seven times since Spring Training. He has a 3.72 ERA in 10 Major League appearances and a 2.10 ERA in 24 games with Norfolk.
Worth noting
Adam Jones was out of the lineup for the Orioles' series finale against the Blue Jays. The center fielder took a ball off his foot in the series opener and Showalter wanted to give the 32-year-old a day off the Rogers Centre turf.
"I figured he'd be sore, if not sorer today," Showalter said. "We contemplated yesterday. ... He's fine, just want to keep him that way."
