Baltimore is ready to lend the victims of Hurricane Sandy a helping hand. The Orioles announced Thursday that they have partnered with Von Paris Moving and Storage to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy, and they're inviting fans to pitch in and join the effort.
Von Paris Moving and Storage will drive two or three large moving trucks with donations directly to some of the New Jersey communities still struggling with the after-effects of the storm. Fans may bring donations to the Warehouse at Oriole Park on Thursday and Friday before 5 p.m. ET.
Items most needed include: bottled water and canned food, rice, pet supplies, powdered milk, baby formula and bottles. Families may also need battery-operated radios, flashlights and batteries, blankets and sleeping bags and even clothing items like coats and shoes.
Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association have announced that they are jointly contributing $1 million to relief organizations helping those affected by the storm.
