BALTIMORE -- The Orioles have signed pitcher Aaron Laffey to a Minor League deal, the club announced on Thursday, giving the organization rotational depth with the left-handed addition.
Laffey will not be in big league camp, and he will report to the team's Minor League complex in Sarasota, Fla., next month.
The 28-year-old spent time with four organizations in 2013, making five appearances (three starts) in the big leagues and mostly pitching at Triple-A. Laffey owns a career 25-29 record with a 4.45 ERA over parts of seven Major League seasons with the Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets.
Laffey gives the O's, who are still looking to add rotation help, another potential spot starter, but he'll likely open the season at Triple-A Norfolk.
