BALTIMORE-- Written off as logical sellers at the non-waiver Trade Deadline, the Orioles insisted they were in it to win it in 2017. And this past week they've gone out and proved that. Baltimore used four homers and a magnificent complete-game outing from starter Dylan Bundy to roll to its sixth straight win with Tuesday's 4-0 series victory over Seattle.
The win keeps the Orioles 1 1/2 games back of the Twins in the American League Wild Card race, and just one-half game behind the Angels, who defeated the Athletics Tuesday night. 
"He was outstanding, obviously," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of Bundy. "That was fun to watch. Especially when you think about everything that was at stake for both clubs."

The O's got solo homers from Jonathan Schoop, Manny Machado and Welington Castillo, with Machado going deep in the sixth and eighth innings to back Bundy's gem. The Orioles' righty -- added back from the bereavement list prior to the game -- held the Mariners to one hit, striking out a career-high 12, en route to his team-leading 13th win.
"I've noticed the second half I'm getting a few more days [off] in between starts than I did in the first half, and I think I'm starting to see it now," Bundy said of his recent success. "My body feels great still, and I'm just blessed to be out there."

Mariners starter Erasmo Ramirez went six innings, holding the O's to two runs -- homers from Schoop and Machado -- on five hits and two walks. He struck out seven.

Seattle has lost four in a row to fall to 66-67 on the season and 5-6 with one game remaining on their 12-game East Coast road trip.
"We've talked often on this road trip about how we have to hit and score runs and we just haven't done that for the last 3-4 days for the most part," Mariners manager Scott Servais said. "We really got nothing going tonight at all and I attribute a lot of that to [Bundy]. He really had good stuff, was landing his breaking ball and really had it all going on."

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Seager's save: There's no way to tell of course, but Kyle Seager's one-out bunt single in the fourth inning was the only hit off Bundy all night. Did it thwart potential baseball history? Perhaps. Either way, Seattle wouldn't get another runner until Guillermo Heredia reached on a one-out error in the eighth.
"Nobody wants to get no-hit," Seager said. "But in the third or fourth inning there, we're just trying to win the game. I don't think anybody is thinking about a no-hitter at that point. We're just trying to get guys on base and score runs and win."
Schoop starts the power: The red-hot second baseman delivered his 500th career hit with the first-inning solo blast to put the O's on the board. Schoop drove Ramirez's 0-1 pitch into left-center field for his 29th homer.

"Everything was working for [Bundy], all his pitches. He was pretty much on top of everything. You see a pitcher who has one or two pitches going in one night, but he had all four -- the fastball, changeup, slider, curveball. That makes it really tough as a hitter. The Mariners have now been held to one hit three different times this season. The first two were April 18 by the Marlins and May 19 by the White Sox.
Bundy's game marked the 40th one-hitter in Orioles history, the 33rd by one pitcher. The last to do so was Jason Hammel on June 16, 2012.

Mariners:Ariel Miranda (8-6, 4.62 ERA) faces his former Orioles team for the first time since being traded to Seattle last year on Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. PT. The 28-year-old southpaw threw 4 2/3 scoreless innings on Friday against the Yankees, but is 1-2 with a 6.32 ERA over his last nine starts.
Orioles: The Orioles will send Ubaldo Jimenez to the mound for Wednesday's series finale against the Mariners at 3:05 p.m. ET. Jimenez will be looking to snap a streak of two straight losses, and three in a row in which the O's have fallen. Opponents have hit him at a .343 clip in that stretch, tagging him with an 8.59 ERA. One of those was at Seattle, when he allowed six runs.
