Reimold could join O's for next road trip
BOWIE, Md. -- Outfielder Nolan Reimold (hamstring) is nearing a return to the lineup.
Reimold, who hasn't played in a Major League game since May 11, batted third and played left field for Double-A Bowie on Saturday.
He'll likely play at Bowie on Sunday as well, but he could return to the Orioles on Tuesday for their road trip.
"My hope is that he travels with us to Chicago on Monday," manager Buck Showalter said, "but we'll see how the next couple of days go. That would be up to the people that are with him. [Special assistant Terry Crowley] is over there, and [bullpen coach] Billy [Castro] gets to see him tonight."
Reimold went 1-for-4 with a single and a walk Saturday, and is now 8-for-42 with four RBIs and 13 strikeouts in 11 Double-A games, splitting time between designated hitter and left field for the Baysox.
