SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Huston Street from the 15-day disabled list and have optioned right-hander Miles Mikolas to Triple-A Tucson. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Street, 28, was placed on the disabled list on May 5 with a strained right lat muscle.  In two rehabilitation starts for Single-A Lake Elsinore, he posted a 9.00 ERA (2 ER/2.0 IP), allowing one hit, a home run, and one walk while striking out one. In 10 outings this year for San Diego, he has allowed only one run, posting a 0.93 ERA (1 ER/9.2 IP) while converting each of his four save opportunities. Over parts of eight Major League seasons with the Oakland A’s (2005-08), Colorado Rockies (2009-11) and Padres (2012), Street has gone 30-21 with 182 saves and a 3.07 ERA (152 ER/446.0 IP) in 427 relief outings.

Mikolas, 23, was selected from Double-A San Antonio on May 5 and made his Major League debut for the Padres that day against the Miami Marlins at Petco Park.  In 13 relief outings for the Padres, the right-hander went 1-1 with a 3.29 ERA (5 ER/13.2 IP), a .224 (11-for-49) opponents batting average and 12 strikeouts against nine walks. Originally selected by the Padres in the seventh round of the 2009 First-Year Player draft, he has gone 12-12 with a 2.88 ERA (70 ER/219.0 IP) and 38 saves in 149 games (11 starts) over parts of four minor league seasons in the Padres organization.
