SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced they have selected left-handed pitcher Tom Layne from Double-A San Antonio and designated left-handed pitcher Alex Hinshaw for assignment. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.
