Padres to Host Nationals, Cardinals and Rockies for Fourth Homestand of 2018

The Padres return home from their third road trip of the season, a seven-day six-game trip, in which they also hosted the Los Angeles Dodgers for a three-game series in Monterrey, Mexico.

The Padres return home from their third road trip of the season, a seven-day six-game trip, in which they also hosted the Los Angeles Dodgers for a three-game series in Monterrey, Mexico. Their fourth homestand of the 2018 season features games against the Washington Nationals presented by SAIC, St. Louis Cardinals and Colorado Rockies. Action begins tonight with a 7:10 p.m. start.
 
San Diego Padres vs. Washington Nationals (SAIC) - Tuesday, May 8 @ 7:10 p.m.
 
The Padres Estrellas program presented by Arco continues its partnership with local school districts and non-profits to support the effort to reduce high school dropout rates and improve health and fitness behaviors within the Hispanic youth population. Prior to Tuesday's game, students from Chula Vista School District, San Diego Unified School District and Sweetwater High School will be treated to tickets to the game and have the opportunity to watch batting practice from the field before being recognized at home plate during the pregame ceremony.
 
The third Taco Tuesday of 2018 takes place Tuesday and features Petco Park's favorite local tacos at a special price. For only $2.50, fans can choose from a variety of taco options at Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill (section 117 location) Carnitas' Snack Shack, Wonderland Ocean Pub, Lucha Libre, Miguel's, Seaside Market, and Brigantine.

Making its return to Petco Park in 2018 is Comic-Con® Night, featuring:
-A special theme game ticket package that includes a ticket to the game, pregame costume contest in Park at the Park and a Padres-themed Comic-Con® hat, available to the first 1,000 fans to purchase the ticket package. For information, or to purchase tickets, fans can visit here.
-Fans can participate in a costume contest in Park at the Park prior to the game with four contest categories. The winners will receive a pair of four-day passes to 2018 Comic-Con® and will be recognized during the pregame ceremony.
-A representative from Comic-Con® International will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch.
-There will also be Comic-Con®-themed in-game entertainment throughout the night.

Thursday commences the four-day weekend celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 1998 National League Championship team. In honor of former Padres outfielder Tony Gwynn, who would have celebrated his 58th birthday on Wednesday, all fans in attendance on Thursday will receive a Tony Gwynn '98 Commemorative Bobblehead presented by Sycuan Casino.
 
Padres broadcaster Tony Gwynn Jr. will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch prior to Thursday's game.
 
The second College Night of 2018 will take place Thursday. Elements include:
-A DJ spinning at the Budweiser Patio in Right Field from 6:00 p.m. to the conclusion of the game.
-College students will receive a special ticket discount with a valid student ID (advance price of $15 in a Right Field Upper Reserved College Night section; prices increase day-of-game).

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 1998 National League Championship team, all fans in attendance on Friday will receive a Ken Caminiti '98 Commemorative Bobblehead presented by Sycuan Casino.
 
Nicole and Lindsey Caminiti, daughters of former Padres infielder Ken Caminiti, will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch prior to Friday's game.
 
Friday night will feature BeerFest presented by Southwest Airlines, featuring:
-Live entertainment and a wide selection of beers from a variety of local and national breweries at Park at the Park.
-First pour is at 4:30 p.m. with all beers specially priced at $5 and available for purchase with Friar Funds exclusively.
 
Friday will also serve as a First Responder Salute: American Red Cross Salute. Elements of the day include:
-American Red Cross volunteers who helped install hundreds of free smoke alarms as part of the Red Cross' Sound the Alarm initiative will line the baselines during the pregame ceremony.
-A representative from the American Red Cross will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell prior to Friday's game.
-Sean Mahoney, American Red Cross Regional Chief Executive Officer, will be presented with a check from the Padres and Caroline Winn of SDG&E.
 
Friday is also Teacher Appreciation Night presented by National University, featuring:

As part of Baseball Night in San Diego and in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 1998 National League Championship team, all fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a Trevor Hoffman '98 Commemorative Bobblehead presented by Sycuan Casino. The first 1,000 fans who purchase the full commemorative bobblehead set are eligible to participate in a special autograph session with members of the 98' team prior to Saturday's game available here.
 
Padres alumni from the 98' National League Championship team will be recognized during a special reunion ceremony prior to Saturday's game.
 
Former Padres player, scout and front office executive Kevin Towers will be posthumously inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame in a special pregame ceremony on Saturday. Towers will be honored for his nearly 30 years of service with the Padres, most notably as general manager of the club from 1995 to 2009. Under Towers, the Padres enjoyed some of the most successful years in club history, including four National League West titles (1996, 1998, 2005 and 2006) and a National League pennant in 1998.
 
Kelley Towers, wife of Kevin Towers, will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch to former Padres catcher and 98' team alumni Carlos Hernandez.
 
Anisha Gwynn, daughter of Tony Gwynn, will be joined by an American Sign Language representative to perform Saturday's National Anthem.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 1998 National League Championship team, all fans in attendance on Sunday will receive a Greg Vaughn '98 Commemorative Bobblehead presented by Sycuan Casino.
 
Padres Alumni Greg Vaughn will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch prior to Sunday's game.
 
Sunday will also serve as a Military Salute: Salute to the Military Spouse presented by USAA. Elements of the day include:
-The MCAS Miramar All-Star Softball team, who will compete against Padres Alumni in a softball game on May 10th presented by Navy Federal Credit Union, will line the baselines during the pregame ceremony and will be joined by spouses from all branches of the military.
-A military spouse will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell.
-Marine Corps spouse Katrina Pesek will perform Sunday's National Anthem and God Bless America during the 7th-inning break.
-Nine active duty Navy spouses will take the field to greet Padres starters as part of the "Military Take the Field."
 
The second Friar Family Day presented by Denny's of the 2018 season takes place Sunday, with elements including:
-A special ticket package offer for kids (14 and younger) and adults. A hot dog and soda is included with each ticket.
-Access to inflatables and face painters in Park at the Park prior to Sunday's game.
-Following Sunday's game, kids 14 and under with the Friar Family Day ticket are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the top of the ramp leading to the Craft Pier presented by Ballast Point on K Street.
-Fans can purchase tickets for Friar Family Day at the Petco Park box office or online here.
 
KidsFest presented by Chick-fil-A and supported by Del Real Foods, Compadres Kids Sunday Signings and Postgame Kids Run the Bases activities include:
-KidsFest presented by Chick-fil-A and supported by Del Real features bounce houses and other inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists and more kid-friendly activities in Park at the Park beginning at 10:30 a.m.
-From 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., two Padres players will sign autographs at the Park at the Park for Compadres Kids Sunday Signings. A Compadres Kids membership is required to participate. Membership is free, and kids can sign up online here or in-person on the day of the event.
-Following Sunday's game, kids 14 and under are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the top of the ramp leading to the Craft Pier presented by Ballast Point on K Street. Compadres Kids members will receive front-of-the-line privileges by lining up at the Park Blvd Gate Plaza.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Day, 2018 Honorary Bat Girl Sandra Lopez, selected by Major League Baseball and Susan G. Komen, will be recognized during Sunday's pregame ceremony. 100 breast cancer survivors will also participate in a special baseline ceremony prior to the game.
